Red Poppies is owned and run by me, Penny, out of my studio in the Hills District of Sydney. I have qualifications in both Fine Arts & Floristry, and am always on the lookout for new inspiration to pass on to my Brides.
Red Poppies started in 2008 as a side business while I was working as a Florist. I was delighted that word soon spread about the quality of my work and Red Poppies has been my sole business focus ever since. I have worked on well over 500 weddings, frequently turning away extra weddings to ensure that each booking got the time & attention it deserved.
The absolute favourite part of my job has always been getting wonderful feedback & photos from my Brides. Over the years I started to see a trend in Brides commenting that they jetted off on their honeymoon straight away, and never really had the time to appreciate the flowers they had planned for so long (with the big day itself spinning by in a blur!).
This got me thinking . . .
much as I love real flowers, perhaps there could be a better alternative for ones wedding day? One that is more unique & personal than traditional fake flowers? One that would remove the need for costly flower preservation, the constant issue of preferred flowers being out of season, provide new options for unusual colour schemes, and ensure the flowers look great all day, and long, long after.
After many months spent researching & experimenting with alternative options, I have fallen in love with the unique beauty of handmade balsa wood flowers & felt flowers. Each of these options gives so much scope to personalise the arrangements for each Bride, their unique colour schemes & vision.
Both options are also super light to carry, which you'll really appreciate once you've spent hours holding your bouquet for your ceremony & photos!
Red Poppies continues to runs out of my home-based studio which allows you to enjoy the following advantages:
Free consultation in my Winston Hills studio for Sydney Brides; available weekdays, limited weeknights and weekends (by appointment only).
Phone and/or email quotes and advise for Brides throughout Australia.
Colour matching service when you provide fabric/other samples.
Confidence that your wedding flowers are getting the attention to detail they deserve, away from the distractions of a busy flower shop.
Confidence that the person you share your ideas with, will be the same person who creates and arranges the flowers for your big day (all me!).
I know that these new options will not suit all Brides, but I really look forward to hearing from you if you're as excited about having a new option as I am!
